Prior to signing up for moonlighting, all residents need to sign up in MedHub for moonlighting privileges. After signing up in MedHub, the Program Directors will grant privileges and you will receive an email confirmation.

General Rules

  • Residents may not moonlight during blocks that they are scheduled for inpatient.
    • Residents may moonlight during ED rotations as long as they still have 4 days off each block and at least 10 hours off between shifts (cannot moonlight on the same day as a scheduled shift with the exception of clinics or rounder shifts).
    • Senior residents may moonlight on Outpatient Pulm, but only 1 shift.
  • Moonlighting must comply with duty hours. 10 hours off are required between shifts.
  • You may only sign up for a total of 3 moonlighting shifts before the start of each block (2 of which can be CCHMC NICU). Once the block starts, you may sign up for further spots if your schedule allows. This is to increase access to these spots for all residents. With regards to ED moonlighting shifts, you may be sign up for two consecutive shifts (i.e. Saturday 12p-6p and 6p-12a) if you are not breaking duty hours; however, this would count as two of your three signups
